Holiday Stress Busters 101

Holiday Buster Recap: 1. Prioritize: Start with making a list of 5 things every day. 2. Self-Care: This is NOT selfish! You can take a few minutes to do what YOU like to do. Fill yourself up so you can keep helping others. 3. Avoid "should statement": Stop saying "I should have done that, I should have done this. Talk POSITIVELY/KINDLY to yourself! 4. Journal: Start with gratitude first thing in the morning and at the end of the day. Journal at least 3 things you're thankful for. 5. Set Boundaries: You can say NO. Then give recommendations or other suggestions. 6. Financial Obligations: Don't feel like you have to spend spend spend! Budget an amount and stick with it. Go get something for free, gift your time, write a letter, etc. 7. Physical: Just move! Dance, walk, do any time of movement you enjoy. Try your best to do at least 20 minutes per day. 8. Practice Mindfulness: Pay attention to what's going on RIGHT NOW. Don't dwell on the past or worry about the future. Live in the present. Use a breathing ball, count 4 in - 4 hold - 4 out, use essential oils. 9. Grounding Method: See 5 things, feel 4 things, hear 3 things, smell 2 things, taste 1 thing. 10. Spend time in nature: Bundle up this time of year, just get out in some fresh air if you are stressed 11. Spirituality: Pray, read a devotion, and ask for help with your stress. 12. Practice creativity: If you sing, craft, etc. do this as often as you can to bust through the stress.
